Censure is a 10 minute play, based upon an actual event, which seeks to raise issues concerning freedom of speech and liberal tolerance for conflicting opinion. Presented within a university setting, a student group has invited a guest speaker to address international political events. Following the speaker’s introduction, however, in the name of “political correctness,” equity, diversity, pluralism, affirmative action, and multi-cultural inclusion, a radicalized, female, adjunct faculty member bursts into the session to confront the speaker and the student organization , disrupting the event and bringing it to an abrupt conclusion before self-righteously storming out, after offering a passionate assertion of the principles of civil rights.
